UPDATE: Russian govt to discuss privatization plan soon–official

(Adds details in paragraph 2)

MOSCOW, Jan 12 (PRIME) -- Russia’s government will soon meet to discuss a privatization plan, First Deputy Prime Minister Igor Shuvalov said on Thursday.

The government will prepare a draft privatization plan by March. “We are discussing the plan, the draft government ruling…I will comment on that when it is ready,” Shuvalov told reporters when asked whether the government may discuss the sale of another 10% in oil major Rosneft at the next meeting. “It will be done in the first quarter.”

Dmitry Pristanskov, head of the Federal State Property Management Agency, said in December, that the plan was first sent to the government that month and it coordinated the sales of 10.9% in the country’s second largest bank VTB Bank, 25% minus one share in shipping company Sovcomflot, and a stake in Novorossiysk Commercial Sea Port (NCSP) for 2017.
